The Department of Social Welfare and Development in the National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) in enforcing Presidential Decree 1564 otherwise known as the Solicitation Permit Law and DSWD Administrative Order No. 14 series of 2007 or the revised Omnibus Rules and Regulations on Public Solicitations.  The event was held in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City.

The MOA strengthens the partnership of DSWD-NCR with NCRPO in the apprehension and investigation of unscrupulous solicitors in Metro Manila and complements the implementation of DSWD’s regulatory function.

Bonoan said that with the strengthened advocacy, illegal solicitation activities conducted by individuals, Non-Government Organizations or People’s Organizations within Metro Manila will be lessened.

NCRPO Director Chief Supt.  Leonardo A. Espina expressed his immediate acceptance of the partnership and committed his solid support to all the endeavours of the police force to ensure compliance to the provisions of the agreement.
