At least 11 private and non–government organizations participated in the partnership forum of the Department of Social Welfare and Development–National Capital Region, held recently at Garden Plaza Hotel in Paco, Manila.

DSWD–NCR Regional Director Ma. Alicia S. Bonoan said the activity aimed to strengthen the implementation of convergence initiatives to expand additional areas of cooperation with DSWD partners in providing livelihood and employment opportunities and services to beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.

The partnership forum also highlighted the presentation of status of partnership among the existing partners of DSWD–NCR and the testimonials of beneficiaries whose lives were improved through this partnership activities and initiatives.

Wilson Quijano from Navotas City, whose family is one of those who are being prepared for the completion of the first five–year implementation of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, said the partnership of DSWD and DPWH in the implementation of Trabahong Lansangan Project gave him a job that helps sustain the needs of his family.

“Nagpapasalamat ako sa DSWD at sa DPWH dahil sa trabahong naibigay nila sa akin. Naka–dalawang kontrata na ako sa kanila. Malaki ang tulong at pagbabago ang naibigay nito sa akin at sa pamilya ko. Ngayon, hindi na kami nag-aalala kung saan kukuha ng pangkai. Nakakakain na din kami sa tamang oras,” shared Wilson during the forum.

Wilson works in road de–clogging and maintenance project of DPWH and earns P428.00 daily wage.

The Trabahong Lansangan Project was launched in September 2011 and has served a total of 1,554 beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program in the National Capital Region (NCR).

“We hope to develop more partners that will provide livelihood and employment opportunities to our beneficiaries to ensure that when these families no longer receive grants from the government through the Pantawid Pamilya program, they can still provide for the education and health needs of their children,” Bonoan concluded.
