Some 10,714 beneficiaries of Social Pension program for indigent senior citizens and Modified Conditional Cash Transfer for Families in Need of Special Protection (MCCT-FNSP) in Metro Manila, will be subjected to special validation and assessment on the second quarter this year.

For social pension, the assessment will affirm the continuation of payment of monthly stipend to social pensioners. On the other hand, the inclusion of MCCT-FNSP beneficiaries-families in the Listahanan database will facilitate their advancement to the regular PantawidPamilya Pilipino Program as a result of this validation.

DSWD-NCR also hired 63 field staff to facilitate this validation. Of these, 43 will be assigned to confirmthe status of the 7,349 social pension beneficiaries who were not in the Listahanandatabase, while 20 staff will assess 3,365 potential beneficiaries for the MCCT program.

Under social pension program, each pensioner receives P500.00 per month or P1,500 quarterly as financial assistance for food expenses and medical needs in compliance to Republic Act 9994 or the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010.

MCCT-FSNP, on the other hand, provides cash grants to street and displaced families, nomadic indigenous peoples (IPs) or those living in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas provided that they comply with its conditions on health and education.

Moreover,Listahanan is an information management system that identifies who and where the poor are in the country.
