The Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) augments in the relief operations for typhoon Glenda victims by releasing a total of 6,850 food packs and 2,914 non-food items such as mats and blankets.
As of 05:00 p.m. today, DSWD-NCR recorded a total of 5,021 families with 24,373 individuals from the 14 cities affected by the typhoon who were displaced from their shelters. These are from Pasay, Navotas, Manila, Caloocan, Valenzuela, Marikina, Malabon, Taguig, Las Piñas, Mandaluyong, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Pasig and Quezon City.
Of these, 5016 families and 24,348 individuals are being assisted in 106 evacuation centers in the concerned LGUs. Meanwhile, five (5) families and 25 individuals in Pasay City opted to stay with their relatives than in the evacuation centers. According to records, the evacuation sites being occupied are schools, day care centers, covered courts, barangay halls and club houses, among others.
Meanwhile, only barangay 101 in Manila registered damage to property with 47 totally damaged and 15 partially damaged houses, or 62 damaged houses. ###
