Angelo Caigas, the NCR’s Pantawid Pamilya Child 2014 encouraged his fellow children-beneficiaries to strive harder in their studies since it will be their ladder in achieving their dreams, during his group’s presentation in the opening activity of the NCC 2014 held at Sequoia Hotel in Quezon City recently.
A resident of Navotas City, Angelo demonstrated various exemplary characteristics which made him the regional winner of the Search for Exemplary Child 2014 in Metro Manila.
Meanwhile, for the national Search, Jemuel Steven Mago from Romblon City is this year’s national winner followed by the runners up from regions XII, IV-A,VIII, and VII.
Even if Angelo failed to get a place in the national Search, he is still determined to continue expressing his thoughts as a child by writing of poems. For him, all the nominees who joined the NCC are all deserving to win because poverty has never been a hindrance for them to achieve academic excellence though they belong to poor families in the country.
Angelo also proudly stated how the Pantawid Pamilya program improved the life of his family not only through the cash grants they are receiving for their education and health packages, but also with the learnings his parents acquired from the Family Development Sessions (FDS) and other meetings regarding the program.
Together with Angelo are Ericka C. dela Peña from Las Piñas City and Dolly Anne Monsalud from Marikina City, the 1st and 3rd runners up, respectively, of NCR who also participated in the event.
Approximately 50 children composed of the top 3 Pantawid Pamilya exemplary children of each region in the country attended the event where series of activities aimed to enhance the skills of the children – participants were conducted. Also, an educational tour at the Mind Museum in Taguig City was held. ###
