With the theme “Kagandahang Asal, Kaalaman at Kakayahan, Palaguin at Tagumpay ay Abutin,” the NVRC recognized 80 trainees from 10 training courses offered at the center.
DSWD-NCR Regional Director Ma. Alicia S. Bonoan acknowledged in her message the perseverance of the trainees despite the hardships they went through. She also thanked the parents for supporting the trainees throughout their journey. She emphasized “hindi hadlang ang kapansanan upang maabot ninyo ang inyong mga pangarap.”
Part of the program was the presentation of achievement and special awards. The ten (10) massage therapy graduates were recognized for their excellent performance in the recent Licensure Examination for Massage Therapists, given by the Department of Health (DOH) in June 2014. All ten are now employed .The center also awarded the best trainee per course.
Meanwhile, seven (7) graduates excelled from their fellow graduates in their respective courses.
Another highlight of the event was the launching of the NVRC Hymn entitled “Center Naming Minamahal.” Sang by the NVRC Chorale, it resonates all the learning experiences of the trainees and staff while at the center, paving the way to the realization to the trainees’ dreams.
Of the 80 graduates, 57.5% or 47 of them are already gainfully employed. Some of the courses offered at NVRC are Massage Therapy, Computer Hardware, Personal Computer Operations, Watch Repair, Housekeeping, Consumer Electronics, Food Management Service, Dressmaking, Social Rehabilitation Skills and Prosthesis making. ###
