To ensure the successful conduct of the second family assessment in Metro Manila, the Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) will provide intensive trainings to some 3,274 project-based staff who would facilitate the implementation of the project.
During the trainings, participants will have knowledge on the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) or Listahanan, an information management system that identifies who and where the poor are in the country.
They will gain understanding on its rationale, background and objectives, among others.
Most importantly, they will be equipped with the necessary skill on how they will perform their assigned roles and responsibilities. They will also learn how to respond to the possible circumstances that may arise during assessment.
“The project is very significant to all social protection programs’ stakeholders. Thus, we would like to reassure that our Field Office staff are competent enough to facilitate it,” expressed Regional Director Ma. Alicia S. Bonoan.
Meanwhile, Bonoan shared that these staff will not be deployed to their area of residence to ensure objectivity of the project.
In the National Capital Region, the DSWD targets to assess some 1.2 million families who are in need of social protection programs and services. ###
