The Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) is grateful for the support of the local chief executives, barangay officials, civil society organizations and other key stakeholders in Metro Manila during the conduct of the second family assessment through the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) or Listahanan.
“As we finish our data collection, we would want to extend our appreciation for the assistance provided by everyone throughout this phase. The success of establishing an updated database of poor families lies on our collective efforts. Thank you for the continuous support on this initiative.” DSWD-NCR Ma. Alicia S. Bonoan expressed.
Through the help of various stakeholders, the Department was able to identify “pockets of poverty” that need to be assessed through saturation. Barangay officials and other organizations also guided the field staff during the actual enumeration and provided security personnel to ensure the safety of our staff, especially that they are using mobile tablet during interviews.
Bonoan said that they will continue their close coordination with these stakeholders during the validation phase wherein the Department will resolve and address complaints relative to the project.
“Let us continue to work together to ensure that the Listahanan database is Kumpleto, Sigurado at Totoo.” she added.
A total of 783,802 were already assessed in the National Capital Region (NCR) as of August 27, 2015 based from the Operations Monitoring Report. Listahanan is an information management system that identifies who and where the poor are in the country. The system makes available to national government agencies (NGAs) and other social protection stakeholders a database of poor families as basis in identifying potential beneficiaries of social protection programs and services such as Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and Social Pension among others. ###
