To ensure that the database of poor families is accurate and complete, the Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR), through the National Household Targeting Unit (NHTU), is now conducting series of orientations on the validation and finalization phase of Listahanan with the barangay chairmen in Metro Manila.
“We acknowledged the important roles played by the local barangay officials such as during actual enumeration. Thus, we will continue to coordinate and to work with them for the next phase of the project wherein we will be posting initial list of poor families in the visible places in their barangays for validation of the community.” DSWD-NCR Regional Director Ma. Alicia S. Bonoan enthused.
Bonoan continued, “We request that they encourage the people to check the initial list of poor families and provide again barangay security personnel during the conduct of re-interview to validate the appeals and complaints receive during the validation period.”
With the help and assistance of the barangays, Bonoan is very positive that all poor families will be included in the Listahanan database for possible availment of different social protection programs and services and no one will be left behind.
Meanwhile, barangay chairmen and officials in Municipality of Pateros and City of Muntinlupa already assured that they will provide assistance for the successful conduct of the second family assessment.
Listahanan is an information management system that identifies who and where the poor are in the country. The system makes available to national government agencies (NGAs) and other social protection stakeholders a database of poor families as basis in identifying potential beneficiaries of social protection programs and services. ###
