The Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region presented the results of the 2nd family assessment and oriented the 17 local government units in Metro Manila on the validation and finalization phase during its exit conferences held on October 1 and 6, 2015 at Great Eastern Hotel, Quezon City.
During the activity, Regional Deputy Project Manager Ms. Manuela M. Loza shared that 1,186,413 families or 93.6 percent were already synchronized to the system which will be subjected for Proxy Means Test to estimate the income of the family.
She said that the initial list of poor families will be posted this month of October 2015 in the noticeable places in the barangays for validation of the community.
Moreover, the participants were also oriented that a Local Validation Committee (LVC) will be created to resolve all the complaints and appeals received during the validation period. The composition of the LVC are the local chief executive, head of Municipality or City Social Welfare and Development Office, head of Municipality/ City Planning and Development Office, two local Non-Government Organizations, Civil Society Organizations or private stakeholders.
Meanwhile. DSWD-NCR Regional Director Ma. Alicia S. Bonoan also recognized the support of the LGUs to the project. She said “We thank you for the assistance you provided during the actual enumeration. As we conduct the validation phase, we encourage everyone to continue working together to ensure that the database of the poor is Kumpleto, Sigurado at Totoo.”
Listahanan is an information management system that identifies who and where the poor are in the country. The system makes available to national government agencies (NGAs) and other Social Protection stakeholders a database of poor families as basis in identifying potential beneficiaries of social protection programs and services such as Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and Social Pension among others.###
