The Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region Regional Director Ma. Alicia S. Bonoan delivered her 3rd State of the Region Address (SORA) to present the accomplishments of the Field Office in line with the celebration of its Regional Office’s 37th Founding Anniversary which carried the theme, “Tuloy sa Pagbangon at Pag-unlad” held at Cuneta Astrodome, Pasay City on October 23, 2015.

The event was attended by the Local Government Units (LGUs), National Government Agencies (NGAs), Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), donors, partner stakeholders, partner-beneficiaries, residents of the Centers and Residential Care Facilities (C/RCFs) and staff.

Bonoan shared that through the convergence efforts of everyone, the Field Office had successfully implemented social protection programs and services to the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged sectors in the National Capital Region.
“Ang DSWD-NCR, katuwang ang iba’t ibang ahensya, mga lokal na pamahalaan, NGOs at CSOs ay nagtuguyod ng mga programa upang tugunan ang kahirapan at maprotektahan ang mga kababayan natin laban sa pang-aabuso at eksploytasyon” Bonoan enthused.

Moreover, she also shared the status of the implementation of the programs and projects of the DSWD-NCR and the challenges ahead. Thus, she appreciated the continuous support of the partners, key stakeholders and beneficiaries in the realization of its goals.

“Maraming hamon pa ang ating haharapin para sugpuin ang kahirapan subalit sa tulong ninyong lahat, kaya nating itawid ang mga nangangailangang mamamayan tungo sa inaasam nating kaunlaran.”

“Patuloy kaming nagpapasalamat sa inyong pakikipagtulugan at pagsuporta sa programa ng DSWD-NCR. Asahan niyo na ang DSWD-NCR ay patuloy sa pagsasagawa ng matapat, mahusay, magiliw at mabilis na paglilingkod sa mga nanganangailangan nating mamamayan” Bonoan closed.
