Special children from the Elsie Gaches Village graduated in the McDonalds Kiddie Crew Workshop which taught them the values of discipline, hard work, teamwork, responsibility and sharing through art workshops, on-the-floor training, and other fun group activities held from April 18 – 22, 2016 at McDonalds Alabang Town Center, Muntinlupa City.
Despite of their disabilities, the residents were able to actively participate in different activities during the workshops. They learned how the fast food chain works and experienced on how to handle customers. They have also showed their dancing skills and artistry in music, dance and art sessions.
Further, four of the residents have Intellectual Disability, while one (1) has Autism Spectrum Disorder. Nevertheless, they were able to boost their morale despite their condition. She said that one of them gladly expressed in a post-activity, “Kung kaya nila, kaya ko rin (If they can, I can)”
With the positive outcome of the workshop to its residents, the center encouraged to send more participants to be part of the Kiddie Crew Workshop for the development of their personality and disposition in life.
