To rekindle and promote the “bayanihan” spirit among its staff, the Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) relaunched its Bayanihang Bayan Program (BBP) which aims to maximize the vast potential of volunteers as partners in promoting faster, and better social welfare service delivery, held at H20 Hotel Manila on June 27, 2016.
Former DSWD Secretary Corazon De Leon, one of the keynote speakers, emphasized the value of “bayanihan” in achieving goals of the Department and encouraged the participants to work together in this endeavor.
During the activity, the participants were oriented about the Administrative Order 10 series of 2010 which stated the guidelines on the DSWD National Voluntary Service Program. They also identified different areas of social welfare service delivery in the communities, centers, institutions and offices where individuals and groups can extend their voluntary services.
The BBP is a volunteer program that also intends to build strong relationship between government and private sectors in implementing government programs and services. It provides exciting opportunities to individuals, groups and organizations to extend voluntary service along social welfare and development, as well as disaster operations. ###
