The Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region awarded Certificate of Registration and Licensing to Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDAs) on February 26, 2018 during the Flag Ceremony of the Field Office held at FO Grounds.
“As we always say, the government cannot do it alone therefore, we really need to have partners that can help us carry out our mandate to help the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged. We are very grateful that these SWDAs who responded to our call for this noble mission,” said OIC – Assistant Regional Director for Operations Edna Sacedor.
Eight (8) SWDAs which include Igan ng Pilipinas Foundation Inc., FSCAP NCR Valenzuela City Chapter Inc., Camarin Elderly Citizen’s Association Inc., Share and Opportunity Philippines Inc., Christian Compassion Ministries Foundation Inc., Hope Caring Christian Ministries Foundation Inc., Philippines Band of Mercy, Inc. and Phil-Asia Assistance Foundation received their Certificate of Registration and Licensing.
Most of the services they provide are for the benefit of the basic sectors such as the children, elderly, family especially homeless families and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). They extend educational, medical and livelihood assistance as well as conduct and facilitate trainings, wellness sessions, gift-giving and feeding programs.
As a response, Mr. Fil V. De Guzman, president of FSCAP NCR Valenzuela City Chapter Inc. expressed his gratitude to DSWD and pledged their continuous commitment and support in providing services to the needy constituents in the National Capital Region.
Registration and Licensing of SWDAs and Accreditation of Social Welfare and Development Programs and Services is in compliance with the Republic Act No. 4373 as amended by RA 5175 – Regulating the Practice of Social Work and the Operation of Social Work Agencies in the Philippines and Administrative Order No. 16 Series of 2012 or the “Rules and Regulations on the Registration and Licensing of Social Welfare and Development Agencies and Accreditation of Social Welfare and Development Programs and Services.” ###
