The Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) Regional Director Vincent Andrew T. Leyson signed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with three (3) SWDAs and CSOs on March 26, 2018 at Karunungan Conference DSWD-NCR for the Budget Partnership Agreement.

The signing of the agreement was participated by The Voice Philippines Inc., Philippine Coordinating Center for Inclusive Development and PWD Federation- NCR.

Under this, partner CSOs and SWDAs agreed to work closely with the DSWD-NCR to make the national budget more responsive to the country’s development needs and pressing concern to alleviate poverty and improve the quality of services and to enhance the quality of the budget process through citizen participation in the preparation of the FY 2019 National Budget.

Moreover, this upholds transparency and accountability in allocation and utilization of public funds in serving the poor, through monitoring of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, Sustainable Livelihood Program, Supplementary Feeding Program and among others.

Regional Director Leyson expressed his gratitude and commitment that the Regional Office will give its best effort in ensuring that every centavo that comes out of the Treasury is for the benefit of the poor and vulnerable. He also emphasized his hope for a long-term partnership with the CSOs and SWDAs. ###
