In this trying time caused by COVID-19, many grieved due to the loss of their jobs and businesses, moments with their families, and the most painful, loss of their loved ones. Some are blessed because they can cope with the hardships, but some are not, which brings us to the sad reality of facing depression.

However, this is not the case for Mr. Noel Aquino, a driver in Marillac Hills. He proved that amid this challenging time, helping one another is the most rewarding achievement.
Noel Aquino, known as “Tatay Noel” who is an Administrative Aide IV and alternate driver since 2018, displays exceptional acts of kindness. Tatay Noel exhibits willingness and actively serves the staff and residents of the center. He shows that the right working attitude and working without reservation are roads to an excellent performance. The Center staff commended him as they did not hear any refusal in doing his work. He even spends the whole night in the Center to ensure that there is a readily available driver who will assist the clients in time of emergency.

Many opportunities knocked at Tatay’s Noel door. Still, he always chooses to serve the residents and his colleagues at Marillac Hills. Tatay’s Noel humility, hard work, and kindness embody the Malasakit attitude that everyone in the Department aspires to be.

Marillac Hills-National Training School for Girls is a center that provides residential care and rehabilitation to minor girls ages 7-17 years old who are survivors of sexual abuse, human trafficking, and children in conflict with the law.###
