The Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) is now hiring 3,274 project-based staff to facilitate the second family assessment, which targets to assess some 1.2 million families in Metro Manila.
DSWD-NCR Regional Director Ma. Alicia S. Bonoan said that the Field Office is in need of competent and socially responsible individuals to fill up vacant positions of 106 Area Coordinators, 528 Area Supervisors and 2,640 Enumerators.
Area Coordinators and Area Supervisors must have Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science or any related courses, excellent communications and writing skills, and experience in conflict resolution or mediation work.
Further, applicants who completed at least 2nd year college may qualify as Enumerator but they must be computer literate with good interviewing and communications skills. They should also be self-propelling and highly-motivated.
These field staff will undergo intensive training to capacitate them in the implementation of the project.
“The hired staff will be deployed in different cities and municipalities in Metro Manila to gather socio-economic data from the families. This data will be subjected to Proxy Means Test (PMT), a statistical model that estimates household income using proxy variables or income predictors,” Bonoan explained.
Bonoan emphasized, “We want to ensure that the data we will be gathering are accurate and complete because those data will be used by various partners and stakeholders in identifying potential beneficiaries of their social protection programs and services. Thus, personnel selection and recruitment process for this project is competency-based.” ###
