Inang Naulila sa Anak (INA) Healing Center being managed by DSWD-NCR celebrates its 10th year anniversary with a theme “10th Year Celebration of Bringing Light and Hope” last December 14, 2016 at Social Hall, INA Healing Center, DSWD Central Office Compound, Quezon City.

The foundation of Ina Healing Center marks its 10th year in serving bereaved mothers and families towards recovery from the loss of their loved ones. Ms. Gina P. De Venecia’s loss of her daughter served as inspiration to the creation of the beautiful center that adheres to promote mental health and gives hope to grieving mothers since its foundation on December 16, 2006.

“Hindi hadlang ang mawalan ng anak upang magsimula ng panibagong buhay. Masakit mawalan ng mahal sa buhay pero dapat tayo magpatuloy para sa ating sariling kinabukasan. Andiyan lang sila gumagabay sa atin at patuloy na gagabay sa atin sa mga desisyon sa buhay at pangarap na nais makamtan,” said by Mrs. De Venecia as guest speaker during the celebration.

The morning activity was started with a simple mass officiated by Rev. John Castillo of Mother of Divine Providence Parish. It is through this simple mass that the center was able to give thanks for the blessings received and to offer prayers to the souls of the departed loved ones of the clients. The officiating priest also blessed the corners of the center.

 

After the mass, fun games such as group cheering competition, ring toss, paint me a picture and human Christmas tree were held for the participants who are from Local Government Units (LGUs), peer support mentors, bereaved mothers, and DSWD staffs.

For the past years, the center has provided holistic approach in serving the bereaved families, which includes provision of psychosocial interventions and social services that uplift their well-being.

At present, there are 341 bereaved mothers saved from 17 partner LGU’s implementing the healing and grief management in the communities. With the positive impact of the program to the clients, the center continuously serves in collaboration with partners from LGUs and Non-Government Organizations.

A total of 38 mothers from different areas such as Mandaluyong, Quezon City and Navotas, together with the partner implementers from Local Government Unit and IFI Inc. participated during the activity.

Part of the activity was awarding of Plaque of Appreciation to partners who are been actively supporting the implementation of Healing and Grief Management of INA Healing Center in the community. The partners from the LGU of Navotas, Mandaluyong and Gulod are among the recipients of the award.###
