Beneficiaries of Modified Conditional Cash Transfer for Homeless Street Families (MCCT-HSF) program in Metro Manila inspired participants and guests during the recent Multi-Stakeholders  Summit conducted by Department of Social Welfare and Development-National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) held in Mandaluyong City.

In their message which was conveyed through a rap, the beneficiaries thanked all stakeholders who are working together towards creating and sustaining safe communities, especially for families, children and unattached adults at-risk on the streets. The lyrics of the composition goes:

“Salamat sa inyo at kami’y nakarating sa isang hotel pa man din

Upang tukuyin ang mga hinaing ng street children sa amin

Kami ay narito upang matuto at magbahagi sa inyo

Kami po ay galak at busog pa man din, kahit kami ay giniginaw sa dilim,”

Samuel Trangia, a MCCT-HSF beneficiary also expressed, “Tuparin ninyo ang pangako ninyong tungkulin, hindi lang pag may time but all the time.”

Further, they committed to strengthen coordination with the national government agencies (NGAs) and local government units (LGUs), and they are also willing to go back to school so they can acquire more knowledge and skills.

“Simula sa araw na ito, magiging aktibong miyembro din po kami ng MCCT-HSF, pagbubutihin po namin ang aming mga trabaho, haharapin ang mga hamon sa buhay at magpaplano para sa aming kinabukasan,” Trangia disclosed in one of his group’s presentation.

With the assurance to improve their lives, the DSWD, together with NGAs, LGUs; business sector; non-government organizations (NGOs); civil society organizations (CSOs); and other stakeholders vowed to help urban street dwellers, and will work together in the achievement of their dreams and aspirations. ###
